[article write-up from THE ESSEX HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND SHIPBUILDING MUSEUM - JANUARY/FEBRUARY 1999. VOL. 23, NO. 1.
When the time came for the Story's Yanmar 27 horsepower disel engine's initial start-up last December, a manufacturer's represenitive was not available to supervise, so Mack Borking asked one of its authorized sales and service centers to perform the task. The nearest available dealer was Winter Island Yacht Yard of Salem, owend and operated by Peter Haywood and his wife, Diane, Mack Boring & Pars of Braintree, Mass., the engine's donor, suggested it initially be started up unther the supervision of a factory represenitive to protect its warranty. Peter Haywood donated his services and came down to the Chbacco boat to help. |
